FAQ’s

  • Yes, these LUTs are in .cube file format which is readable by most editing platforms and even some other programs like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and After Effects. If you’re unsure just check whether your software can read .cube files.

  • D-Log M ready LUTs are designed to go straight onto your raw D-Log M footage to give you a quick cinematic result.

    The Rec.709 LUTs are designed to go onto footage that is already colour-corrected.
    For example, you take your raw D-Log M footage and apply my D-Log M to Rec.709 conversion to that footage to colour-correct it. Then you can apply the Rec.709 cinematic LUT on top of that and adjust the intensity of that LUT to give you more control over your final look.

    The Rec.709 Luts give you more control, the D-log M LUTs give you more speed and convenience.

  • Any LUT with D-Log M in the file name is to go onto raw D-Log M footage.
    Any LUT with Rec.709 in the name is to go onto already colour-corrected footage.
    Just add them to your footage and watch the magic happen.

  • Yes they do. I tried it and I wasn’t very happy with the results. It’s not very flexible as it makes the image similar to the Normal colour profile image. Too harsh and unnatural. I developed this LUT to give me a more natural Rec.709 image to work with whilst editing.

  • The normal colour profile tends to give a harsh look to the image with a little too much contrast, saturation and too much vibrance. I designed this LUT to give the footage a much more natural look, removing all of this harshness.
